Well who would have believed it, we're just a few months away from the community websites 2nd birthday!

Looking at the statistics the community website has steadily grown over the last 2 years with new members joining every week, and although the new post counts are not as high as I would have liked we do have steady readership which is very encouraging.

Currently we have split of 33% regular readers and 66% casual readers, we have as expected the largest number of readers from the UK however we have had readers from United States, Poland, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, France and other countries all over the world.

In our last year we have had a massive increase in requests to publish local event information and that has led to the inclusion of the Barton-Le-Clay Community Website Calendar which as regular readers will know has been very active with lots of events listed over the summer especially.

So as to the future, we have the facility to publish 'articles' alongside our forum which are in reality the same as an editorial piece in any newspaper and although we have not made use of this facility so far, in 2013 I hope we can so all all you budding journalists out there please fee free to supply us any editorial you would like to see published. If publishing or journalism is a subject you are new too but have a topic, event, activity or any subject you would to tell everyone about then contact us for advice on the simplest method of getting you information in print on the Community Website.

In the past I have mentioned that we would like to hold a 'Community Website Week' in Barton and the surrounding villages, in 2013 we plan to put this in to action by holding a publicity event in spring and some high profile displays at village events throughout the summer.

So there we are, a little about the past and a little about the future.... please remember this is your community website so please get involved, we welcome your suggestions and criticism (good or bad) of how the Barton-Le-Clay Community Website has performed over the last 18 months and what you would like to see in the future.

The Barton-Le-Clay Community Website Team.
